1 Peter 1:1-5

Aug 25, 2024    David Clark

Last week we finished off the Book of 1st Timothy. The conventional wisdom might say that we would jump into 2nd Timothy or Titus since we are going through the letters of Paul in somewhat chronological order. However, we are going to be taking a little break from the letters of Paul, and we will be looking at the book of 1st Peter.

The book of 1st Peter is a book of hope and encouragement in the face of difficulties and trials. In reading this letter, we will all be amazed that the same Peter that rebuked Jesus, cut off a guy's ear, denied Jesus 3 times and was just a generally brash and arrogant guy wrote such an amazingly articulate and hope filled Book.

This morning, we will be getting a lot of context and background about this book and Peter. We will also be addressing: election, and also our inheritance as Christians.

*******Tonight we also have our prayer service at 6:30PM********

Our prayer service will be a time of testimony, with at least one heartbreaking testimony that will demonstrate the grace of God in the midst of unexpected and overwhelming tragedy.
