1 Peter 1:6-12

Sep 1, 2024    David Clark

This morning we are heading back into the Book of 1st Peter, then after the message we will partake of Communion together as a family.

Peter will be writing about an issue that we all face in life. An issue that none of us really enjoy, and one in which can lead to emotional, physical, and spiritual scars. The issue we will be addressing tomorrow morning is trials.

Trials and difficulties happen to all of us in life. The death of a loved one, sickness, losing a job, a friend, a marriage. No one likes going through trials and, if we let them, these trials can cause doubt, anger, depression, and sadness.

Peter is going to be reminding us that the trials we go to can also be a means by which we demonstrate and strengthen our faith. A way to gain rewards for remaining firm and not stumbling when we go through trials.

Peter will also remind us of how blessed we are for living on this side of the cross. We have the rest of the story, we have the Holy Spirit that remains with us as Christians, no matter what trial we face.

Please remember that September 8th, after the service, we have our Fellowship meal/Anniversary celebration.

The church will provide the main dish, but we are asking that folks sign up to bring sides and desserts for all to enjoy. There is a sign up sheet in the Fellowship hall.
