Hebrews 1:4-14

This morning we will be finishing off the 1st chapter in the Book of Hebrews.

In our text we will be looking at angels. In our world today, we don't talk much about angels unless it is referencing Clarence from "It's a Wonderful Life". However, angels are powerful beings that were created for a specific purpose. There are numerous spiritual battles that take place all around us that we can not see. Angels are heavily involved in these battles and they fight for the Lord.

The author of our text will be comparing and contrasting how the Lord is superior to the angels. This is probably a topic we have not really spent any time thinking about. During the time of the writing of our text, however, angels played significant roles in the Jewish faith. Some folks actually venerated and worshipped angels.  So unpacking why Jesus is superior to angels would have been an important discussion.
