Mark 13 End of Times 081923

Today we are heading back into the Gospel of Mark. We are going to pick back up in Chapter 13.

The last time we were in this Gospel, we read how Jesus told the disciples that the temple would be destroyed, and some of the disciples wanted to know when and what would be the signs that lead up to this event.

Jesus told them that as time progressed there would be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines, false teachers, and false Messiah's. He said that they would be witnesses for him in front of world leaders and that family members would turn over other family members to be put to death because of their faith in Jesus. All this sounds like the world we live in today. The thing is, Jesus said that these would not be the signs of the destruction of the temple, these would be but the beginnings of birth pangs.

Today we are going to see the clear sign of the end of things. We are going to be talking about the abomination of desolation. We are going to be talking about severe persecution, false signs and wonders performed by the antichrist and the coming of Christ.

For those folks that like to study eschatology. This will be a good Sunday for you, as we unpack the middle and the end of the tribulation period.
