Mark 16 102923

Oct 29, 2023    David Clark

Tomorrow morning, we are going to be heading back into the Gospel of Mark. We will not only finish the 16th Chapter, but also the Gospel of Mark. Then we will enjoy some fried chicken and fellowship after the service. So, if you can, bring a side or dessert.

Last week we left off with the disciples refusing to believe that Jesus had risen, even though they had three people that came and told them that they physically saw Jesus and talked with Him. I guess the question is what is it going to take to believe that Jesus had indeed risen?

Jesus will appear to the disciples when they were all together scared, mourning, and in a locked room just in case they were on the Roman's most wanted list and did not know it. Once Jesus appeared, they could no longer refuse to believe that He had risen.

Jesus, will give the disciples some instructions-- a commission, the same one that He gives to all of us to: "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation."

We are also going to get into some text that has been misunderstood and has cost folks their lives. Some folks believe that Jesus' instructions included willingly passing around poisonous snakes and drinking poison to demonstrate your faith. They end up testing God, which is a no-no, instead of testing their faith.
