2 Chronicles 15-16
Tonight we are going to be back in 2 Chronicles. We will be covering chapters 15 and 16 and probably stopping a little early tonight.
In our text we are going to be reading about a man named Asa. He is the King of Judah that will be putting together some amazing reforms in the country to get the people back on track to worship the Lord and be obedient to Him.
What we will see in Asa, is a man that is on fire for the Lord. he legitimately wants to do what the Lord is asking. However, when he messes up and things don't go the way he wants them to, he starts to backslide.
I think we can all relate to what happens to Asa. As Christians, we are not immune to the frustration of things not going our way and having unrealistic expectations. I am sure that many of us have also gone off track when we feel the Lord is not doing what we expect Him to do in our lives; or provides some needed punishment so that we learn our lesson.
However, we are called to get back on the straight and narrow road when we get off track and not stay distant from the Lord. A lesson Asa apparently did not learn completely.
