Today we are going to be starting and finishing the 9th Chapter in the Book of Joshua.

Last week we saw the victory over Ai by the Israelites. As I mentioned previously, often the enemy is the most busy against us after a victory. After a victory, our pride can lead to complacency.

Today we are going to be introduced to some serious scam artist. These Gibeonites will hoodwink the Israelites into making an oath that would directly contradict the instructions the Lord gave to the Israelites. This poor choice would have a long lasting impact and create tension in the camp.

The good news is that the Lord can even take our worst mistakes and use them to further His kingdom. However, that does not mean that we will be spared from the consequences of our choices.
