2 Timothy 1:13-2:2 050425
In our text, Paul is going to be instructing Timothy to cling to the sound doctrine that Paul had shared with him and to protect the treasure that had been entrusted to him. Tough times of persecution were upon them and Timothy needed to stay firm in the faith no matter what difficulties he would face.
Paul will also give us a picture of some folks that did not stay firm in the faith during persecution, but instead had abandoned Paul in his time of need. How would we like our names written in the bible, for all to read, as someone that had turned away and abandoned one of the Lord's messengers?
Paul will also commend one faithful servant that did abandon Paul but instead took on additional persecution to provide comfort to Paul in his time of need.
