Matthew 16:24-17:13

This morning we will be finishing off the 16th chapter and dipping our toes into the 17th chapter in the Gospel of Matthew.

Last week I shared with everyone that the text this week is some of my favorite texts in the Bible. Jesus will be sharing with the disciples His expectations of those that wish to follow Him. These expectations are also applicable to us today, if we chose to be His followers.

We will then get into studying what happened on the Mount of Transfiguration; where we will see Moses and Elijah together speaking with Jesus, as He is in His glory. I can't even imagine what Peter, James and John experienced on that mountain top. We will also see Peter again speaking when he should have been listening. We all do it, and all wives can say "Amen".

We will finish off our text by speaking about the prophecy from Malachi that predicts the return of Elijah before the coming of the Messiah.
