1 Timothy 1:1-4
This morning, we will be starting a new Book in the Bible. We will be looking at one of the pastoral epistles in 1 Timothy and then we will partake of communion together as a family.
We will be starting out the morning by briefly speaking about a mission trip to San Fellipe, Mexico in October. If you are interested in going on a mission trip, make sure you are there tomorrow morning to see a video on where we will be going and the people we will be serving.
We will then get into 1 Timothy. We only have 4 verses to unpack, but a good deal of context to look at so that we can be prepared to understand the who, what, where, and why of 1 Timothy.
In 1 Timothy, we are going to be addressing some doctrinal aspects of doing church together. We will see Paul handing the baton off to Timothy, and wanting to ensure that Timothy has the proper blueprint of how a church should operate. We will be looking at some doctrinal issues of prayer, women in the church, widows, slaves and masters, how to approach outside leadership, and a lot more.
