1 Peter 4:12-19

Dec 8, 2024    David Clark

This morning, we are going to be finishing off the 4th Chapter in the Book of 1 Peter.

Peter is going to be talking about suffering, and how as Christians we will face suffering in this world. The good news is that there is a blessing in our suffering when we suffer for the name of Christ.

I know that in Goochland, Virginia we do not see a lot of suffering or persecution for our faith in our community. However, there are those that are suffering throughout the world that are being beaten, imprisoned, and killed because of their Christian faith.

Peter's words are words of encouragement for those that face persecution and suffering for their faith, because when we suffer, for Christ's name, we gain rewards in Heaven that do not rust or fade.

Some of you may have experienced limited persecution for your faith at school, at work, or within your family; but take heart, God sees your persecution and your rewards will be great.
