Matthew 10:34-11:6
This morning, we will be finishing off the 10th Chapter and starting the 11th chapter in the Gospel of Matthew. We will also have some great Christmas songs to sing tomorrow morning as we inch closer and closer to Christmas Day.
In our text, we will read about persecution, priorities and rewards. Jesus will be speaking about how as Christians, we are to prioritize our relationship with the Lord over any other earthly relationship. We are to pick up our cross and follow Christ, no matter how strong the persecution, temptation, or difficulty.
We will then open chapter 11, with a conversation between Jesus and one of John the Baptist's disciples. John was in prison, so he would send some of his disciples to ask if Jesus is truly the Messiah, of Whom they had been searching. Which is kind of a strange question considering what John saw and experienced earlier when He baptized Jesus in the Jordan River.
