Matthew 5:38-48

This morning we will be finishing off the 5th Chapter in the Gospel of Matthew. Then we will have a fellowship meal to celebrate the church's anniversary.

In our text, we will continue walking through the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus will be challenging us to live a life congruent with being a member of the Kingdom. As Christians, we are held to a higher standard which may seem counter-cultural to this dark world. However, we are not called to fit in, but to stand out and shine a light into this world of evil and darkness.

We will be looking at: retaliation, going that extra mile, and loving your enemies. Our text tomorrow morning will definitely challenge us, but I pray that it not only challenges us, but transforms us.

Today is our anniversary celebration. We will be having a fellowship meal directly after the service. The church is providing the chicken, but we are asking that if possible, folks can bring a side or desert.

Invite friends, family, neighbors, coworkers. and strangers to our anniversary celebration. This is a great opportunity to do some outreach.
