Matthew 5:21-37
This morning we are heading back into the 5th Chapter in the Gospel of Matthew. We will also be stopping a little early so that we can partake of Communion together as a family.
In our text Jesus will be addressing: anger, reconciliation, lust, divorce and oaths. Jesus will be providing a new understanding of what may seem like some pretty straight forward topics.
I shared with yall last week that the Sermon on the Mount can be a pretty challenging bit of text when it comes to demonstrating our Christian faith in this world. However, as Christians, we are called to go beyond what is morally expected of this culture. We are called to live in the Spirit, which means, living into Kingdom standards and not just cultural standards.
There will be something in our text this morning that will challenge each and every one of us. I pray that you will allow the Spirit to lead us and change us as we unpack some difficult teachings of Jesus.
