Philippians 1:19-26 121023

Good morning CCG,

Tomorrow we will be heading back into the Book of Philippians.

In our text, tomorrow morning, we will see Paul calling his shot to be joyful no matter what trials or difficulties come his way. Which is pretty impressive considering Paul was under house arrest and waiting for a trial that could either find him freed or with his head removed.

Paul shares his internal struggle about what he wants his immediate future to look like. To continue to provide fruitful labor for the kingdom or to be released of all of the nastiness of the world and go to be with Christ in Heaven. It's a choice between should I stay or should I go.

Paul writes in Philippians 1:21:

21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Paul knows that he really longs to be with the Lord, He has had a glimpse of Heaven once, and he knows what amazing things are waiting for him. However, he knows it is for the benefit of the kingdom if he stays and continues to work in the fields to bring about the harvest.

Paul is all in and is more concerned about the Father's will than his own desires. That is always a good place to be.
