Joshua 10 080223

Today we are going to be starting and finishing the 10th chapter in the Book of Joshua. It is a long chapter, but I have faith that we can do it.

We are going to see five kings coming together to fight against the Israelites. They knew that they could not defeat the Israelites by themselves so they created a mega army and decided to not wait for the Israelites to come to them.

We are also going to see the miraculous event where the sun and moon stood still all day so that the Israelites could defeat the enemy. This event occurred because of one simple prayer by one man with one simple motive-obedience to God.

We are also going to see Joshua given the opportunity to pay the Gibeonites back for their deception. He will have a chance to let the five king conglomeration completely obliterate the Gibeonites, which would allow Joshua out of the oath he made with the Gibeonites. It's only fair, right? The Gibeonites tricked the Israelites into making that oath, so they get what they deserve, right?
