2 Chronicles 121323

Today we are going to be headed back into 2 Chronicles.

We are going to start out with a recap of Solomon's accomplishments. Next, we are going to get to the Queen of Sheba.

The Queen of Sheba sought out Solomon because she had heard of his wisdom and all the amazing wealth he had, thinking that it had to be an exaggeration. What she found was that Solomon's wisdom and wealth was beyond what she could possibly imagine. The Queen of Sheba leaves Israel with the most expensive goodie bag ever given. Solomon gave her everything she wanted, and she did not disappoint.

Next we will read about Solomon's death,which is more of a tragedy than triumph. He will appoint Rehoboam as his heir and things will not go well.

Rehoboam has a chance to draw Israel closer together and fortify any weaknesses that were found during Solomon's reign. However, he gets some really, really bad advice from his buddies and ignores the wise counsel of the elders. This will lead to more division in Israel and the kingdom being a shell of what it was before.
