We will be heading back into the Book of Deuteronomy. We will be finishing off the 10th and 11th Chapters.

It is amazing that through our faith and love we can receive forgiveness of our sins and salvation. It is amazing that we have, through faith in Christ, eternal life in Heaven. It is amazing that the Lord wants to bless us and give us good gifts.

However, all of these amazing blessings are contingent on a choice that we have to make. The Lord does not want robots that simply run a designed program with no options. Instead, He has given us free will. He has given us the choice to receive blessings and salvation or to receive curses and eternal death. It all begins with a choice.

In our text, Moses is telling the Israelites, like us, that they needed to make a choice. The Israelites can either receive blessings in abundance for following the Lord's commands, and rules, and statues and receive blessings in the Promised land. However, they could also choose to continue to be stiff necked, disobedient children that disregard the rules and receive curses in the Promised land.

The choice for the Israelites seems like a no brainer, I mean who wants to receive curses and death? This same choice remains for us today, yet many will choose to reject faith in Christ and receive curses and death instead of salvation and blessings.

16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing (Deuteronomy 10:16-18).
