Mark 10 061123

Today we are going to be headed into the 10th chapter in the Gospel of Mark.

Jesus is making His way to Jerusalem and the cross. He is less than 6 months away from being betrayed, imprisoned, beaten, and crucified. He has a lot to teach the disciples in a short amount of time.

Jesus is going to have yet another run in with those pesky Pharisees. The Pharisees are going to try to trip Jesus up and alienate the followers of Christ with one simple question.

“Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”

Tomorrow we will talk about why this was such a tricky question, with huge potential consequences..

Jesus will then rebuke the disciples for their lack of understanding when the disciples try to keep parents from bringing their children to Jesus to bless.

We will close out tomorrow morning talking about the rich, young ruler who didn't realize how material possessions had become his idol.
