Mark 15 16 102223

Today we are going to head back into the Gospel of Mark. Last week we were in a pretty somber bit of text. We studied the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Today we will start out in a somber bit of text as we see the burial of Jesus, but we know the rest of the story. It doesn't end there, we will finish our text not with a dead prophet, but a living Savior.

We will see the faithful ladies visiting the tomb, and finding it empty and then running into an angel who spoke to them:

6 And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” Mark 16:6-7

Then we will read how our Lord appears to Mary Magdalene, and then two disciples walking on the road. Definitely a reason to celebrate.
