Mark 3:6-21 011523

Today, we will be continuing our study of Mark 3, and asking a few pertinent questions.

1. What would you be willing to do to receive healing?

We will see crowds from 200 miles away coming to see Jesus, just for a touch, believing that He could heal them. The crowds were so vast that there was a real concern for Jesus' safety; a concern that He would be injured from the huge crowd that was jockeying for position, pressing on Him to get close enough just for a touch from this miraculous healer.

2. How would you choose members for an elite team?

When putting together an effective team I am guessing that like most people we would look for things like: talent, skill, influence, compatibility, friendships, and faith. Jesus, however, was only looking at the heart. He was looking for usable vessels that the Father would choose. He even had to choose the one that He knew would betray Him.

3. Have you ever been accused of being too religious?

Maybe some of you can relate. Maybe someone in your life; a family member or friend, has said that you are too religious and questioned why you were always talking about Jesus, always going to church, and praying. In our text we are going to see Jesus working non-stop to accomplish the will of the Father. He was getting minimal sleep, and skipping meals because He knew His time on earth was short. His devotion and diligence were met by some saying that He had lost His mind.

20 Then he went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. 21 And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.”
